    Frequently Asked Questions

No. The Government of India and the IEPF Authority do not charge any fee from investors or shareholders for filing Form IEPF-5. The claim process itself is free at the government level.

The most common reasons are KYC mismatches — for example, the name on the PAN card not exactly matching company records — unverified PAN details, incorrect bank or demat account information, missing attachments, and discrepancies in the number of shares or dividends claimed. Our team pre-checks every document before submission to prevent these issues.

Share details can be verified on the MCA / IEPF portal at iepf.gov.in. Alternatively, share the company name and your folio number with us — we will check on your behalf at no cost during the free consultation.

Yes. A demat account is mandatory to receive shares recovered from IEPF — they are transferred electronically. If you don’t have one, we can guide you on opening one quickly with any depository participant (DP).

The legal heir must first complete the transmission process with the company — getting the shares transferred into their name using a death certificate, succession certificate, or probate. Once transmission is done, Form IEPF-5 can be filed. We handle both the transmission and the subsequent IEPF claim.

Yes. Physical share certificates from the pre-demat era are very commonly found by families going through old papers. We help convert them to demat form and, if their dividends went unclaimed and the shares were transferred to IEPF, we file the full recovery claim on your behalf.

A standard IEPF claim takes around 6 months from submission to final transfer. Timelines depend on company nodal officer responsiveness and IEPF processing. We track and follow up throughout to keep the claim moving and flag delays early.
